VentureSpur Judging the Rice Business Plan Competition

VentureSpur co-founder, David Matthews, is judging the Rice Business Plan Competition today.

From the competition’s website:

The Rice University Business Plan Competition is the world’s richest and largest graduate-level business plan competition. It is hosted and organized by the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, which is Rice University’s flagship initiative devoted to the support of entrepreneurship, and the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business. This is the 12th year for the competition. In that time, it has grown from nine teams competing for $10,000 in prize money in 2001, to 42 teams from around the world competing for more than $1.3 million in cash and prizes.

Both co-founder David and also Managing Director, Kraettli L. Epperson, have judged this competition at Rice University in Houston, Texas.

The Rice Business Plan Competition is an exciting, fast-paced event that attracts the top business plan competitors in the world with its very large cash prizes and access to both venture capitalists and corporate investment funds, including some of the top energy companies.

Kraettli also created and taught Rice University’s Entrepreneurial Leadership course from 2001 to 2004. This was the university’s first undergraduate entrepreneurship course.
