Recently Jon responded to our interview survey. Find out what key word he uses to define the value of a mentor! See the responses below!
What was the most important thing a mentor ever did for you?
(My mentor) told me that it was not only OK, but necessary to occasionally fail.
What do you think a mentor can do for a startup? How can a mentor help?
EXPERIENCE EXPEREINCE EXPERIENCE. There is a very good reason that the phrase “Been there done that” keeps getting repeated so often in life. There is simply no substitute for experience. Mentors are no smarter, no better that others; we’ve just ‘been there done that’.
What kind of startups and technologies do you currently find interesting?
That’s kind of hard to answer…I guess I am kind of drawn to existing (proven) technologies that can be applied in a new or different application.
What is the most important part of a company’s application when applying to an accelerator and why? Product description and design, market opportunity analysis, sales and marketing plan, team biographies, or something else?
They are all probably equally important. The application must also somehow communicate that company’s and people’s passion – that is very important.
