From the story, quoting our Managing Director, Kraettli L. Epperson:

“You have to have collaboration; you have to have innovation; you have to have talent; and you have to have venture capital available,” said one of the three men behind the new VentureSpur business accelerator.

“You need to bring all those things together to form a new company. And too often in Oklahoma, we have seen companies that might have a great idea but they can’t raise the capital here. They don’t have the support and mentorship, so they go someplace else,” he said.

“An accelerator is a necessary element. It’s not a sufficient element, but it’s definitely necessary to build that kind of economy to keep those kinds of companies here.”
