Our 2013 accelerator graduate, SIVI, has won a contract to help in the development of the Las Alamos Venture Accelerator (LAVA).

Under the direction of the Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (LACDC), the entrepreneurial community of Los Alamos, New Mexico has pulled together to form LAVA, a virtual accelerator program to activate and guide startup entrepreneurs.
SIVI-Logo-wtaglineSIVI, a virtual incubator and 2013 graduate of the accelerator program, has partnered with several organizations from Los Alamos in this joint effort to spark the local entrepreneurial economy. SIVI’s LaunchLeader platform will be key to the development and acceleration of startups companies.

Nicholas Seet, CTO of SIVI, has been appointed the LAVA “Startup Czar” that will lead the accelerator’s development process by building a network of local mentors and preparing for the LAVA’s launch on September 5, 2014. The company is led by CEO Ashok Kamal, and is based in Oklahoma City. It successfully raised a large angel investment late last year.

In an interview with the Los Alamos Daily Post, Seet said, “Our goal is to encourage people to get into entrepreneurship and promote the entrepreneurial mentality. We want to widen the base of the funnel to create more businesses in Los Alamos and cultivate an entrepreneurial ecosystem for us all.”

This blog is dedicated to providing advice, tools and encouragement from one entrepreneur to another. I want to keep this practical and accessible for the new entrepreneur while also providing enough sophistication and depth to prove useful to the successful serial entrepreneur. My target rests somewhere between the garage and the board room, where the work gets done and the hockey stick emerges.
